LFS Music Break! “Children of the Sun Remix”- Deep Foundation feat. Hydroponikz, Nomi, Koba, Kiwi & Encite

So our semester is winding down and we’re hitting those books preparing for finals. But while we’re drinking our coffee/ energy drinks and staying up until the wee hours of the morning finishing papers and studying for tests, we can’t forget the reasons why we do the work. The motivations that get us up in the morning to go to school/ meetings/ events/ etc. LFS would like to inject some nationalistic music to go along with those energy drinks to help stimulate all your senses. Today’s song is brought to you by Deep Foundation out of the East Coast and features numerous emcees, including BAYAN-USA Deputy Sec. Gen. Jack “Kiwi” De Jesus and Nomi from Power Struggle and ALAY (Active Leadership to Advance the Youth). Enjoy!

LFS Music Break! “Mr. Fat Duty” by Hopie Spitshard

With Diwang Pinay coming up this Sunday, we thought it’d be a good idea to feature a performer from a past DP in order to get you hyped for the type of talent you’ll see this year. Hopie Spitshard is a lyricist who performed at last year’s DP and has since released her debut solo album. Check out her myspace and support women in Hiphop!

LFS Music Break! “Kabataan Partylist” by Kiwi & “Awit Ng Kabataan” by Rivermaya

Another LFS music break. In honor of the recent victory of the progressive party-lists, in particular Kabataan Party-list, we present two videos that are dedicated to the youth.

First up, a song by Kiwi that was used to promote the party-list during the last elections.

Lastly, a song by Rivermaya called “Awit Ng Kabataan”. Enjoy!
